French 3/4 cello with a mature, warm sound - the best way to support talented young musicians who can make the most of the many assets of an antique children's cello.
This 3/4 cello was made in the 1900s in the traditional violin making town of Mirecourt and, in the comparatively rare genre of antique 3/4 cellos of this size, provides an excellent example of the aesthetic and tonal merits of superior craftsmanship. The interesting grain of the fine-to-medium grained spruce top and the interesting flaming of the two-piece maple back are indicative of the sensitive wood selection of experienced luthiers, whose hands are evident in the fine workmanship of the purfling, the delicately extended corners, and the cleanly cut soundholes and scroll details. The beautiful golden-brown varnish finish rounds out the visibly good qualities of this 3/4 cello, which is in good condition with some repairs and blemishes (center joint, uvula, purfling), and its beautiful warm sound makes it a first-rate choice for young, growing talent. Thanks to our trade-in guarantee, this 3/4 cello will reliably accompany discerning young musicians until they switch to a high-quality 4/4 cello. Like all of our instruments, we deliver this 3/4 cello in ready-to-play condition, checked by our luthier's workshop.
