Old German Cello, Saxony, circa 1900

Old stringed instruments are rarely preserved in an excellent condition as it can be found at this old German cello, that was built around 1900 in the traditional violin making town of Markneukirchen in Saxony. The attractive, light-brown colored varnish with tasteful antique touches determines the appearance of this good antique cello, that was crafted of quality tonewoods: medium grained spruce was chosen for the table, and maple with mild, interesting flaming for the two-piece back and the ribs. The model was designed after classical patterns of Antonius Stradivarius and this cello features a convincingly warm, precise and sound, that is well-balanced and radiant. Our expert luthiers carefully worked over this piece, that is very convenient to play and with no repairs at all preserved in very good condition. We offer it ready to play.
