This rare 1/2 bow was made by the skilled hands of the renowned Prosper Colas in Paris around the year 1900. Colas, who worked for Vuillaume, is famous for exactly blanced bows with tough heads. The round stick is made of pretty dark red brown wood, the black frog is made of ebony. It is adorned with the typical pearly eye and slide. The bow has an overall length of 61,6 cm and produces a bright and powerful sound. The balance-point is at 22 cm from the frog end. Colas works are much demanded nowadays, especially "hard-to-find"-items like this one. 1/2 bows from Colas are extremely rare. This rare violin bow is perfectly suitable as an extraordinary present for a young talent. Comes with a certificate by Jean-François Raffin, Paris.
