This antique 3/4-sized violin unmistakably hails from the tradition-rich Bavarian violinmaking town of Mittenwald, where it was made by Neuner & Hornsteiner around 1880. It bears no label but clearly communicates a flawless and typical Neuner & Hornsteiner craftsmanship: confidently accentuated edges, the expressive carving of the scroll and the elegantly crafted one-piece back of mildly flamed maple - with a well-visible but uncritical blemish in the upper part of the back - all reflect the handwork of an experienced violin maker. In light of many scratches and signs from intensive playing to the varnish on the top, this 3/4 Mittenwald violin appears to have been well loved and frequently played because its voice is ideal for soloist performance and competitions. Retouches bear witness to the intense use that this otherwise perfectly preserved instrument has enjoyed. The bright and sweet character and fullness of its warm yet precise and radiant sound is rare amongst 3/4-sized violins. It is ready to play and has been thoroughly set up by the specialists at our studio. We highly recommend it for talented young musicians. Please note our trade-in guarantee, which is especially appreciated by children's violin customers.
