Even small sized violins can feature a surprisingly good sound, just as this violin from Mittenwald in Bavaria, that is more than 100 years old and an amazing personality of a tiny musical instrument. The top of medium grained spruce and the two-piece back of softly flamed maple were crafted of local tonewoods from the Karwendel mountains, that were chosen by an experienced violin maker to feature the best tonal qualities possible. The red-brown varnish unmistakably indicates the violinĀ“s provenance thanks to its typical color and texture. It has developed beautiful patina and shows some traces of use, that introduce an antique instrument that always was a pleasure to play. The violin was designed after a flatly arched model and is offered in perfect condition. It was completely worked over by our luthiers, who made it ready to play. It features a mature and adult voice of clear, dark and warm character, with a fluid tone that will please both the little musician and the parents listening.
