This outstanding old 3/4 violin was built in the 1870's in the Bavarian violin making town of Mittenwald. This excellent old 3/4 violin is preserved crackfree in remarkable condition. The aged, orange-brown colored varnish covers exceptionally beautiful tonewoods that were carefully chosen by an experienced craftsman: the spruce of the top features very regular grain, and the mild flames of the sycamore maple are underlined by the two-piece construction of the back. The carving of the scroll is full of character and determines with the small ff-holes and neat edgework the elegant appearance of this 19th century 3/4 violin. Our experienced luthiers thoroughly worked over this instrument and made it ready to play with its powerful sound, that features a mature character - a 3/4 violin with a notably good response.
