A beautiful antique French 7/8 violin. The instrument was made in the ateliers of Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy (J.T.L.) in Mirecourt around 1900. The materials are well selected - the top made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of deeply flamed maple. The ribs, neck and scroll are similar, deeply flamed. The transparent varnish is of a golden brown color with beautiful patination. The violin is despite a small repair at the left soundhole undamaged and in fine playing condition. It is equipped with a Wittner Germany tailpiece with four integrated fine tuners. The violins beautiful well-balanced sound is warm and clear, carrying with resonant sustain and a noble character. Special recommendation!
