This charming French 1/2 violin was made around 1900 in Mirecourt, probably in the Laberte workshops from which is bears the Mansuy trademark label. The length of back 30.9 cm. The top is made of premium fine grained spruce, the one piece back of mildly flamed maple. The model is after Antonius Stradivarius with beautifully made flutings. The patinated varnish shows signs from playing, it is of a warm red-orange brown color. The condition of this 1/2 violin is excellent: an uncritical repair to the left outer f-wing is the only flaw. The violin has been worked over in our atelier and is offered ready to play. Her sound is warm, resonant and well balanced.
