This 3/4 - sized violin was built approx. 1920 following Amati patterns; it has the typical elegant body of Amati violins with a tender character. This nice instrument comes from Saxony in Germany and it was made in the French style. The 3/4 violin features quite high arching towards the center of top and back and small, elegant and precisely cut soundholes. Selected tonewoods, especially the beautiful, narrowly flamed maple of the back, are decorated by a transparent and shining golden-orange varnish. With several traces of use that are quite natural for an old and often-played 3/4 - sized violin, this instrument is in excellent condition, very well preserved, unfolding its light and warm voice, with some soft and sweet notes.
