Antique master violin in top condition, with a radiant, beautiful, resonant sound
This antique master violin probably comes from the Bohemian-Saxon violin-making region and was made around 1900/1920. It represents the traditional local art of violin making with its high standards of flawless craftsmanship and excellent musical properties. Its powerful, resonant sound is lucid, bright and radiantly clear in character, rich in overtones, with good volume and a pleasantly sweet note in the upper registers.
The label “C. Bachmann” inside the body does not point to one of the well-known master violin makers in the Bohemian-Saxon music corner at the time, and probably refers to a dealer for whom the unknown master worked. The top made of medium to wide grained spruce and the one-piece back made of deeply flamed maple reveal a well-trained, experienced hand that refined its work with an opaque, reddish-brown varnish over a golden-yellow base. Traces of use, which pay tribute to a hundred-year-old instrument that has obviously been played a lot, and a delicate craquelle complete the antique character of this tasteful varnish. Corilon violins' workshop experts set up the violin and made sure that it is in top condition, with no damage and no repairs needed.
