Antique German student violin from Mittenwald - this violin of quality with its highly patinated golden-brown varnish tells a history - it was made for Braun & Hauser München in the violin making town Mittenwald around 1880. In keeping with the best local craftsman tradition, the tone woods — medium grained spruce for the top and very elegant mildly flamed sycamore maple for the two-piece back – are coated with a golden-brown, darkened varnish that enhances the texture of the wood, and it shows many traces from history and developed a beautiful patina - these optical flaws allow us to offer the violin at a competitive price. This good Mittenwald violin's bright voice is rich in overtones and very resonant - a robust match for a student its attractive, appealing and antique appearance. We offer the crackfree violin in good condition and ready to play, after a meticulous work-over in our atelier for lutherie and restoration.
