This good sounding German violin was made in Saxony/Bohemia around 1920. It is a beautiful, hand-crafted violin made after the patterns of Antonio Stradivari. The spirit-oil varnish is of a light brown color, with beautiful antiqueings, applied on a golden-yellow ground. This good Saxon instrument has a wonderful two-piece back and accurate purflings, it is crackfree and despite some minor varnish blemishes in excellent condition. Her powerful, warm sound is rich in overtones, bright and clear with a mature undertone. This indeed very useful antique violin is one of the best sounding instruments in the price range and its good tone deserves our full recommendation.
