This antique handcrafted violint from the turn of the century c1900 was made in the workshop of Markneukirchen luthier Wilhelm Herwig. The violin bears the original label "Wilhelm Herwig in Markneukirchen". The violin is patterend on the model of Stradivari and features a rather slim neck and typical, softly rounded edges made in the Markneukirchen style. The highly patinated varnish bears many traces of use, it is of a shiny, reddish brown color over golden yellow ground. Despite optical flaws, this affordable antique violin is perfectly preserved and in excellent playing condition. Its powerful tone is especially suitable for orchestral use and players who seek for a warm, bright sound.
