Fine violin bow by Hermann W. Prell, made shortly after his time at Eugene Sartory in Paris

This fine violin bow made by Hermann Prell bears the faded original makers stamp on shaft. Hermann W. Prell studied bow making with Heinrich Hoyer in 1890 to 1893 and worked at several renowned bow makers such as Albert Nürnberger, August Rau and Eugene Sartory in Paris afterwards. Hermann Prell made this fine bow shortly after his time with Eugene Sartory in Paris, in Markneukirchen around 1920. The strong yet flexible octagonal stick is made of premium pernambuco wood. The delicate ebony frog is silver mounted with Parisian eye and a beautiful green-rose shimmering pearl slide and made in the Sartory style. This recommendable violin bow is in excellent, near mint condition. The luthiers in our atelier completely worked over this fine Hermann Prell violin bow and made it ready to play, with new hair and leather. This bow produces an extremely bright, radiant and huge sound and has its balance point centered and deserves our special recommendation.
