A very good German silver mounted violin bow by Arnold Voigt. The bow was made around 1920 in Markneukirchen. It is branded Arnold Voigt on shaft above the frog, the frog is branded with the initials AV. The octagonal stick is made of brown pernambuco. The stick is strong and stiff yet with excellent elasticity. The ebony frog is sterling silver mounted with an end-to end slide of white pearl. The adjuster is made of sterling silver with pearl inlays. Silver lapping and leather are new. The balance point is above the lower third of the stick towards the middle. An excellent agile yet strong bow producing a clear, dark, well-defined powerful tone. Special recommendation!
