This fine old Markneukirchen violin bow is a fine quality piece that was traditionally master-made by a Markneukirchen bow maker in the 1920ies. With the balance centered towards the tip, this recommended medium strength and very active violin bow measures 74.2 cm from frog end to tip and is crafted from the finest light brown pernambuco wood. Particular attention to detail is evident in the craftsmanship. The stick is round and plays forgivingly, with a beautiful tone and notable bounce characteristics. The finely crafted ebony bow is nickel silver mounted and bears a mother of pearl eye. This fine German violin bow fits very well, if not perfectly, in the hand and is well balanced, with a slight tilt to the upper half. Measured, its center of gravity is 26.9 cm. The bow produces a warm, big, sweet, radiant, voluminous sound and works well with most violins.
