This fine quality violin bow stamped "L. Dolphyn Bruxelles" is a high-class quality Belgian masterpiece from the 1940'ies, probably original. The bow measures 74,5 cm from head to frog end and has a weight of 60.5 g. The delicate round stick is made of medium strength, nicely elastic and made premium, dark red-brown pernambuco wood. The stick combines medium strengh, tension and elasticity - this bow is notably easy to handle, active and easy to play in bouncing techniques. The large head is neatly finished, the delicate ebony frog made in the French style with nickel mounts, a small and elegant Parisian eye and a pearly slide. This L. Dolphyn violin bow is accurately balanced, the felt balance-point is centered. The measured balance-point is at 26.3 cm from the frog end. An excellent, easy to handle violin bow that is forgiving at play and produces a warm, fluid, resonant sound and works with most violins.
