This good German violin bow is a high-quality contemporary piece which was created at Michael Mönnig’s workshop, one of the last family-run businesses still operating in the great bow-making tradition of Markneukirchen. Michael and his son Thomas can trace the history of their family’s work back to their forefather Gottfried Herrmann Mönnig in the 18th century, and their dynamic tradition is clearly demonstrated by this violin bow which can be used for every occasion. The octagonal brown pernambuco stick featuring Mönnig‘s original stamp makes clear at a glance that hand-selected materials of the finest quality were chosen for this nickel-silver mounted bow. With its lovely carefully crafted head, its three-piece slide and an ebony frog with a simple eye, the violin bow is as tasteful as it is subtle in its ornamentation. Thanks to excellent resilience and a balance point that inclines slightly towards the tip, this 60 g violin bow sits well in the hand and creates a full, powerful sound which merges both warmth and clarity. Multi-facetted playing properties make it the ideal bow for every occasion – the best choice for demanding musicians and a wide range of different instruments.
