Made approx. 1950 in the Markneukirchen bow making workshop Otto Dürrschmidt, who led the workshop until he died in 1922, this fine quality bow that bears the Dürrschmidt stamp and the emblem was made in the workshop headed by his sons Kurt Otto and Carl Wilhelm Dürrschmidt who kept these signs as a renowned brandmark and continued the work of their father with great international success. The round stick is medium strength and made of red pernambuco wood. The fine ebony frog is nickel mounted with pearl eye and pearl slide. The length is 74.5 cm. The balance point is well centered, measured at 26.6 cm including the adjuster. This bow produces warm, rounded and somewhat mellow tones and would nicely complement a clear, brilliant, perhaps shrill sounding violin.
