A good old German silver mounted violin bow. The bow was made around 1940 in Markneukirchen, Germany. It is branded Oskar C. Meinel on shaft above the frog and "6" on the stick at the adjuster. The strong ctagonal stick is made of red-brown pernambuco wood. The ebony frog is sterling silver mounted with white pearl eye and slide. The bow has its balance point at the beginning of the lower third. The bow is rehaired and in playing condition with new silver lapping and leather. However, the tip of the headplate is missing. This bow produces a full-bodied, warm dark tone.
