This excellent Markneukirchen violin bow is an excellent player, it was handcrafted in the 1930's in Markneukirchen for Johannes Adler. The octagonal stick of finest qualiry red-brown pernambuco wood is of good strength, it plays very actively, and was set up with an attractive nickel mounted ebony frog with Parisian eye. The stick bears the Johannes Adler stamp on shaft. The sensed balance point of this bow is centered and measured at 26.8 cm of the total length of 74.2 cm. With its very well balanced total weight of 60.0 g this old Markneukirchen violin bow is handy, easy to play and features a beautiful, large, warm, strong and clear sound, bright, somewhat sweet and with good volume and resonance.
