The instrument is an old German violin made by Schuster & Co. Markneukirchen. The violin was handmade in 1924, it bears the original dated label. The broad model is after Stradivarius, the tonewoods are beautiful and of good quality. The varnish is an especially beautiful oil varnish of an intense dark orange color, patinated and with slight craquellation. The instrument is in perfect undamaged condition. It has been luthier-set up with a new bridge, soundpost and strings and is in immediate playing condition. Its warm darkish sound is notably well balanced, of good strength and with beautiful resonance.
