This old violin is an instrument with unmistakeably French, nonstandard character. The violin's transparent, orange-brown varnish with beautiful antiqueings bears hardly any traces of use, and decorates the deeply flamed maple of the two-piece back. The scroll and pegbox are crafted with very individual style and determine the appearance of this French violin that was most likely made in the Acoulon & Blondelet workshop, the Mougenot label has no relevance. This old violin is undamaged and well preserved in crackfree condition. Our luthiers worked over the instrument completely and made it ready to play. The violin unfolds its bright, brilliant, ringing sound, that is well-balanced across all strings, rich in overtones, that we recommend especially to male players having a rich, powerful play.
