With the coveted "Médio Fino" series, the J.T.L. ateliers in Mirecourt offered solid instruments of a simpler standard, but with very good musical characteristics. Accordingly, many "Médio Finos" still available today bear intensive signs of use, and specimens like the one offered here, affordable with minor flaws, are exceedingly rare. The typical instrument, built after a broad model with indicated purfling, was made around 1900. With its attractive two-piece back, red-brown varnish, this antique violin is visually very appealing. Clear and powerful is the sound of this old French violin.
