This interesting antique French violin was crafted in the late 19th century around 1880 in a Mirecourt atelier, most likely in the workshop of Derazey. The violin table is made of moderately grained spruce, the two piece back of deeply flamed maple. The dark orange-brown varnish covering the golden-yellow shimmering round of the two piece maple back gives this unmistakably French Derazey type instrument a sophisticated touch. Despite some varnish flaws this powerful violin is in very good condition, it has no cracks or repairs. Like all old stringed instruments from Corilon violins, our professional luthiers have thoroughly worked over the instrument and made it ready to play. We highly recommend this violin for its warm, clear, matured, brilliant sound of great power.
