This violin is a very nice quality piece of work made in 1915, as indicated by a marking inside, and of German origin. The violin is good quality German instrument of sound and well made with individual, elegant soundholes and medium archings. The back is a two piece back of very attractive mildly flamed maple. The varnish is an oil varnish of a red-brown color, with some craquellation. The instrument is in perfect condition, has been overhauled by our luthiers and is set up with a new bridge, soundpost and strings. Its bright, strong tone is clear, brilliant and mature, dominant, carrying and nicely resonant.
