The lion head was carved with skillful care, the edges are decorated with a black and white twisted band. The one-piece back and the two-piece top of medium grained spruce are covered by a dark-brown colored varnish with many traces from intensive player. The unknown violin maker successfully created an instrument that recommends itself not only by its harmonius aesthetical appearance, but also by its dark, warm, open and clear sound.
