This lovely Mittenwald violin by Hans Nebel with original label dated 1946 and a powerful strong sound is a rare piece by this little known luthier, preserved in perfect condition. The violin was finely handcrafted in the violin making village of Mittenwald. The violin is traditionally built in the style of the Mittenwald school. The large scroll is very characteristic. Regular, medium grained spruce was used for the top, and the orange-brown varnish, which is very typical of Mittenwald in its consistency, shines in light golden-yellow brown tones. This Hans Nebel violin is perfectly preserved with some playing marks on the varnish, undamaged and crackfree. The strong sound is big, clear and radiant as can be expected from a Mittenwald instrument of this quality.
