Expressive French “Maggini violin” from the 1880s with double purfling, made in Mirecourt in France. The violin has an excellent sound and is a very attractive antique stringed instrument. Its appearance is characterized by good tonewoods, high-quality medium grained spruce of the best wood selection, from which the top is made, and fine maple, which was used for the back and ribs. Luminous, light brown varnish over a golden yellow ground covers the flat arched instrument, to which the small scroll lends a graceful character. When played, this violin reveals its excellent sound quality and tonal strength, with a bright, warm and open, mature character that is somewhat sweet. Virtually crackfree, with minor blemishes and traces of use in good condition, we offer the “Maggini violin” with special recommendation, ready to play. Like all our violins and bows, shipping is free, with a 30-day return policy, including our trade-in guarantee and an optional certificate of appraisal. The certificate from J.-J. Rampal is included in the price.
