This beautiful antique violin from Markneukirchen in Saxony was built in 1927 in the renowned workshops of Schuster & Co., as indicated by the original maker's label. The model is designed after the historical pattern of Stradivari, with the characteristically shaped ff-holes and the medium archings of top and back. Golden orange-brown transparent varnish covers the regular grain of the spruce top and the flames of the flamed one-piece sycamore maple back. A very tasteful appearance, that is, just as the thoroughly made edgework, a demonstration of good, experienced craftsmanship, is preserved in good condition. Minor varnish nicks, traces of use and scratches indicate, that this instrument has a rich musical biography and was often and intensively played. Our luthiers worked over this instrument meticulously and completely and made it ready to play; it features a convincingly bright, clear and brilliant sound rich in overtones, with an instant response.
