A Bohemian luthier crafted this interesting old violin early in the 20th century around 1920; its individual aesthetics reveal fine Italian influences, which are expressed especially in the choice of wood -probably sycamore-, the stylishly carved scroll and the accentuated edge. Good craftsmanship is demonstrated by the one-piece maple back with its flowing flames, and the concisely crafted, bright purfling.
