Concert master choice - Strongly and professionally recommended for soloists, this fine contemporary master violin by Markneukirchen master luthier Eckart Richter features a large, dominant, mature sound which opens up a broad spectrum of musical interpretations. Eckart Richter ranks amongst the most influential figures in modern Saxonian violin-making history, and he has helped shaped his craft for many years as a guild master and teacher of several generations of outstanding journeymen and students in his home town at the university of applied sciences for musical instrument making. A student of Werner Voigt and Willi Lindörfer, Eckart Richter was invited to serve on the jury at multiple international competitions even as a young master, and in 1973 he was awarded a guild prize confirming his status as an artist. This instrument, a comparatively late piece in his oeuvre, is patterned after Stradivari’s classic template and reflects the sum of the mature artisanry Eckart Richter developed over the course of his impressive career. He displayed great musical and aesthetic sensitivity in crafting the one-piece back out of flamed maple with rare beauty; the premium spruce of the top was masterfully set in its best light thanks to an attractive irregularity along the upper part, giving the violin an inimitable and distinctive appearance. These outstanding tone woods are of a quality that is apparent at a glance and highlighted by a luminous rich coat of orange-reddish oil varnish. Preserved in perfect condition, the excellent contemporary master violin has been carefully set up by our luthiers. It has a radiantly beautiful resonant voice with a captivating power and warmth.
