In 1945 this French violin "Modèle Exceptionnel" was made in the house of Collin-Mézin, a very good sounding violin from this house with the original Ch. J. B. Collin-Mézin label. Charles Jean Baptiste Collin-Mézin (pere) was an outstanding figure in French violin making in the late 19th century; he cultivated friendships with many renowned soloists of his time, won numerous awards, and established the good name of the Collin-Mézin ateliers later continued under his name by his son Charles Louis "fils". The beautifully flamed, two-piece back and the very even top with the typical flat arching of this Collin-Mezin violin is adorned with an orange-brown varnish that is remarkably well preserved. Ready to play, this Collin-Mezin violin is offered crackfree in very good condition. Its strong, mature, bright yet clear, balanced warm sound is of wonderful resonance - suitable for soloists and demanding musicians. Like all our violins and bows, includes Corilon's trade-in guarantee and an optional certificate of appraisal.
