A fine violin made by Richard Haller in Erlbach (Vogtland). The instrument is an especially fine and beautiful masterpiece. The top is made of regular fine grained spruce, the two piece back of deeply flamed maple. The ribs, neck and scroll are similar, deeply flamed. The soft varnish is an oil varnish of an intense red-orange color. The neatly inlaid purfling is set close to the edges, which are accentuated. The violin is completely undamaged and in perfect playing condition. The sound is bright and open with beautiful clarity and carrying power.
