Fine violin, a masterpiece of Mittenwald's violin-making tradition

With its nuanced sound full of golden warmth and its interesting historic aesthetic, this fine violin is a masterpiece which reflects the violin-making tradition of Mittenwald in the beginning 19th century. Crafted around 1820, the instrument was made by a master craftsman whose name was lost to history and who was clearly influenced by Italian violin making, a source of inspiration amongst luthiers in the Karwendel region since time immemorial. This master violin has an undeniable Mittenwald heritage and was produced using excellent tone woods which are not only high-quality in terms of their aesthetic. The top is a very evenly grained spruce and the back made of maple with gentle flames. The delicate craftsmanship at the corners and the luminous golden-brown varnish express the greatest artisanal meticulousness and a well-trained aesthetic sensibility. Rich traces of use from earlier generations of musicians confirm that the violin was held in high esteem and played very intensely.
