This French violin with its beautiful sound is an exclusive instrument from Mirecourt dating back to the early 19th century. Its excellent musical properties satisfy the high standards of professional musicians. The original stamp and handwritten signature on the inside reading "Charotte Père a Mirecourt“ indicate that it was made by a member of the famous violin-making family which was active in Nancy, Mirecourt and Rouen from the mid-18th century until the 1920s. In keeping with its age, this elegantly crafted violin has an antique aesthetic that is full of character and plays up its very good craftsmanship. The work of a meticulous and experienced luthier is evident in the slightly accentuated edges with their beautifully executed purfling. The eye-catching and distinctive flaming of the two-piece maple back and the refined proportions of the scroll on a sturdy neck come together to create an extremely unique violin whose style is complemented by its orange-brown oil varnish on a golden-yellow background. This very well preserved violin was carefully set up in our atelier, and its wonderful sound is mature and warm, with a voice that is resonant and full of power.
