Pierre Pacherele (1803–1871) was one of the 19th-century Mirecourt violin makers who did not follow the Parisian tradition increasingly dominated by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume. Instead, Pacherele turned to Italy and spent many years in Genoa and Turin, probably also working with Giovanni Francesco Pressenda.

As an instrument that references the latest phase of Pierre Pacherele's work, a few years before his death, the French violin offered here seems to look back on this formative period of his biography – so imbued is it with his typical Italian style, which is unmistakably expressed in the design of the arching, the shape of the scroll, corners and interior work. The excellent tone woods and the high-quality workmanship make this violin an example of mature craftsmanship, enhanced by a transparent, golden-orange oil varnish. In good condition, with two long top repairs which are carefully executed and have no impact on the sound. They are dated around 1880 and presumably correspond to an inscription on the inside; they were made with great care and unquestionably represent the life's work of an interesting, non-conformist master from the classical phase of modern French violin making. Like all Corilon instruments, this interesting antique violin is delivered immediately ready to play and free of shipping costs, with a 30-day right of return and a trade-in guarantee.
