  • Italian violin by Benito Tosello for Natale Carletti
  • beautifully flamed one-piece maple back
  • Signed original label
  • perfect condition
  • delicate, bright and sweet sound

Benito Tosello had been working in the renowned workshop of master luthier Natale Carletti for about 3 years when he gave an example of his outstanding skills with this handsome and tonally beautiful modern Italian violin. As the signed original slip of paper inside the body indicates, Tosello was making new instruments for his teacher and employer during this time, but under his own name - a testament to high esteem on both sides. After founding his own workshop, he went on to win awards at the Concorso di Liuteria Bagnacavallo in 1978 and 1980. The one-piece maple back, with its mild, soft flaming, reveals both the fine stylistic sensibilities of the passionate painter - a passion Tosello had cultivated since childhood - and his solid knowledge, acquired from Carletti, of how best to model the vibrational properties of the body. The handsomely crafted, scroll and the noble reddish-brown varnish are the work of a confident, talented hand. Preserved in the best, undamaged condition and gone through and prepared ready to play by the experts of our restoration workshop, this Benito Tosello violin recommends itself to discerning musicians with its delicate bright and sweet sound.
