Modern Italian violin from Cremona by Antonio Venturini. Born in 1941, Cremona violin maker Antonio Venturini began his career in a roundabout way, working as a surveyor, car mechanic and on the Italian railway. After completing his training at the Cremona violin making school in 1978, Cremona violin maker Antonio Venturini worked for the renowned master Stefano Conia for four years. In 1985, Venturini founded his own workshop and consistently pursued his high artistic standards, which are perfectly represented by the perfectly preserved full-blooded Cremona violin offered here, made in the last years of his independence: High-quality tonewoods were crafted with the utmost care and covered with a rich, intensely dark red varnish. The typical sound of this modern Italian violin from Cremona, with its bright, powerful clarity, is the work of a Cremonese master. A resin gall or knothole was exposed in the wood of Antonio Venturini at the right f-hole.
