Contemporary Italian violin by Sergio Antonelli especially recommended for musicians with a strong bow stroke, who will find in it - despite its comfortable dimensions - a solid sounding instrument that combines brilliance with carrying radiance. Sergio Antonelli, son of Gino Antonelli, entered his father's workshop at the tender age of 17 (in 1981) to learn the sublime art of violin making. In 1986, his path led him to the renowned workshop of the prestigious violin maker Bruno Montagne,. Between the years 1988 and 1990 he worked for the famous master violin maker Mario Daoglio in Suzzara (Mantua). There he acquired the knowledge and skills to make exquisite violins from noble field maple (Acer campester) and majestic poplar (Populus nigra). Between 1988 and 1994, Sergio Antonelli had the opportunity to work with Mario Gadda in S. Antonio di Porto Mantovano. Under the expert tutelage of this master, Sergio perfected his skills in Mantuan violin making, which was inspired by the legendary luthiers Tommaso Balestrieri, Stefano Scarampella and Gaetano Gadda. His instruments are renowned for their sound quality and precision craftsmanship. The orange-red varnish applied in the best Italian tradition accentuates the beautiful grain of the medium to long grained spruce top and the flaming of the two-piece maple back, and presents Sergio Antonelli as a luthier who knows how to stylishly model both the aesthetics of his instruments and their tonal profile. With its dated original label and several brand marks inside, this modern Italian violin is in undamaged, perfect and immediately playable condition, which the luthiers of our workshop have convinced themselves of during a thorough inspection.
