Italian Violin by Vittorio Rosti (b. 1937 in Castelfranco Emilia, Modena), made in 1999. The instrument's golden-yellow varnish gives it a warm and elegant appearance. Vittorio Rosti, who originally worked as a woodworker, sculptor and carpenter, turned to violin making in the 1990s. Under the guidance of Giuseppe Goldoni, he refined his craft in the tradition of the Emilia-Romagna school. Vittorio Rosti is particularly committed to the selection of the wood – he personally sought out spruce from the Val di Fiemme in South Tyrol, wood which is known for its excellent resonance and is used in the best Italian violins. The violin is in undamaged condition and captivates with its bright, clear sound.
