In the late 1950s, the middle years of Paris maker Jacques Camurat's career as a violin maker, he used exquisite tone woods to create this masterpiece which reflects his precision down to the slightest detail. It is crafted after his own highly sought-after model, and its defining features include a broad medium arch and extremely accurately carved soundholes, a Jacques Camurat hallmark. The delicate purfling along the strongly accentuated edges and the elegant, graceful shape of the scroll are also outstanding examples of the work done by this talented student of Amedee Dieudonne. The even grain of the top and the deeply flamed back with their light golden-brown varnish are radiant. This powerful Jacques Camurat violin has the original dated label and brandmark inside. After a complete workover and set up by our experienced luthier it unfolds its sophisticated sound in ready to play condition, bright, radiant, powerful and nuanced.
