French violin by Laberte-Humbert frères
This sonorous old violin is a very nice French violin by Laberte-Humbert frères, made in Mirecourt in the 1920s. The violin bears a label marked A. Borelli. The varnish, with significant traces of use and patina, is an orange-brown spirit varnish with clear traces of use. The pretty French scroll is carefully crafted. The fine and narrow flaming of the one-piece back is strikingly beautiful. The violin has minor flaws only to the ribs and is preserved in good condition. It is set up and ready to play by our luthiers, as are all violins in our catalog. The powerful sound is mature, clear, dark, rich in overtones and radiant, and well balanced overall.
