This master violin of the Allemannic school (Southern Black Forest and Switzerland) was made in the late 18th century / c.1800 using a truly interesting model whose fine and delicate character expresses a dynamic and individual profile. Probably crafted in Switzerland, it expresses its own distinguished artisanal position in Northern and Central Alpine violin making. The magnificently aged varnish creates a harmonious whole with the relatively broad purfling, the striking sound holes and the eye-catchingly beautiful grain of the top-quality tone woods. The meticulously carved two-piece back of maple with mild flames reflects the exquisite precision of a masterful hand that shaped the deeply carved scroll with a sense of refinement and elegance. An excellent state of preservation confirms the great esteem that earlier generations of musicians showed this frequently played historic instrument. After having been completely worked over and painstakingly set up by the specialists at our workshop, it is now in top condition and ready to play, and the full range of its outstanding sound has been brought to its peak. Slightly slenderly modeled, this violin features comfortable playing properties, and the upper registers of its mature and pleasantly warm sound have a mature singing voice that will inspire musicians to re-discover a wide variety of pieces from classic and contemporary violin repertoire.

Like all our instruments and bows, this includes our trade-in guarantee and an optional certificate of appraisal.
