This interesting young Italian violin by Carlo Dalatri is a premium-quality instrument featuring a typically Florentine style of the ending 20th century which blends outstanding tonal properties with an attractive appearance. The instrument’s top-tier artisanry and distinctive and finely-honed style both illustrate Carlo Luigi Dalatris exquisite mastery; his experienced hand and the confident aesthetic sensibilities of a skilled master are apparent in the petite scroll and delicately carved sound holes. The moderately grained spruce of the top and gently flamed maple used for the two-piece back are outstanding tone woods which are compelling not only because of their magnificent resonant properties, but also because of their unusually lovely grain. A warm golden-brown oil varnish sets these woods in their best light. Strikingly crafted margins and bee-sting corners express an inimitable personal character which is a perfect complement to the voice of this exceptional Italian violin that is preserved with some repairs (that allow us to ffer this fine instrument at a highly reduced price) in very good condition: powerful, bright and radiant, carrying and rich in overtones, highly responsive, with warmth and volume in the lower ranges and radiant brightness in the upper.
