This strikingly beautiful antique French violin was made in Mirecourt in the early 20th century around 1900 in the renowned Laberte-Magnié workshops. Well-executed work was patterned after a violin model by Didier Nicolas and is rich in attractive details: fine purfling, the beautiful grain of the lovely tonewoods shimmers through the transparent red-brown varnish, which bears numerous meaningful traces from playing and particularly accentuates the mildly flamed maple back. The scroll is clearly a Mirecourt worker's hand. This good French Laberte violin is well preserved, undamaged and attractive instrument that produces a very powerful and and mature sound that is powerful and rich in overtones.
