This unmistakably old French Mirecourt violin with its attractively antique appearance was crafted by JTL in the 1910's in Mirecourt, the famous violin-making town in the Vosges Mountains. The same region also provided the beautiful tonewoods for the violin, which was patterned after a model by Antonio Stradivari. The orange-brown varnish shows many signs from playing and patination; the deeply carved scroll is distinctly French in character.
