This old German violin is a handmade instrument that was built approx. 1880 in Saxony, following the traditional and sought-after Hopf model. It bears the well-known HOPF-stamp on the outside of its back indicating the model; the shape is a true expression of the inimitable Hopf-style. This good old German violin was made of quality tonewoods, medium spruce was used for the top, the two-piece back is made of plain maple. Patination and a deep scratch on top at the left soundhole are minor optical flaws, a merely cosmetical disadvantage, without any impact on the sound of the instrument. This good German violin was thoroughly worked over by our luthier and is offered in immediate playing condition, ready to unfold its warm, dark but clear, mature and powerful voice.
