Violin of the Mittenwald school by Joseph Kriner, Würzburg

The resonating chamber of this old Southern German violin by Joseph Kriner, Würzburg; a Stradivari inspired model with with flat archings, is forming a beautiful warm sound, that is large, somewhat mellow and strong, resonant and clear in the upper ranges. This lovely violin is a good example for the excellent quality of Southern German craftsmanship in the end of the 19th century: tonewoods of best quality, as are typical for the region, rounded, slightly accentuated edges and a beautifully transparent and slightly craquelled golden red-brown varnish over a yellow ground clearly reveal the violin´s provenance. We offer the professionally reworked instrument without any damage or repair very good condition, worked over by our violin makers and offered ready to play.
