One of the last violins from the Hopf GDR-workshop

This German 20th century violin was built in 1982 in the famous Hopf workshops in Klingenthal, Saxony, and bears the original dated label. It is one of the last violins of the GDR production that stopped in 1989. The traditional Klingenthal model determines the appearance of the violin yet with a modern, beautiful glossy varnish of a Markneukirchen type, light, golden-brown color and in excellent condition. As many Klingenthal violins this instrument was designed with elements of Italian style, as it is expressed by the tastefully crafted edgework according to Cremonese patterns. We offer this undamahged and excellently preserved instrument in best condition, ready to play, after a meticulous work-over by our luthiers. Its highly recommendable, powerful sound features some dark notes and offers fine and sophisticated playing opportunities.
